Located in Downtown Cincinnati, Sotto is a basement restaurant with an austere brick-&-wood interior that serves some of the best Italian dishes that you can find anywhere in the city. Known especially for their pasta, large selection of wines, rich ingredients, and top-notch service, Sotto is a particularly popular spot to visit when you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion with some excellent Italian cuisine.

Via Vite

Located in Fountain Square in the heart of Downtown CincinnatiVia Vite is one of the most well-known Italian restaurants in the city known for serving up a variety of pastas, risottos, pizzas, and salads. Along with their dishes, they offer a huge menu of craft beers, wines, and cocktails. They even have an outdoor dining terrace that overlooks the square, which is a particularly fun place to enjoy a meal during the warmer months.

Located in the Kenwood Town Centre, Maggiano’s Little Italy is an Italian restaurant that offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes. Our personal favorite appetizer is the fried mozzarella, but you can’t go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu.

One of the more upscale places to enjoy some Italian food in Cincinnati is Nicola’s. Located in Over-The-Rhine, this spot offers a unique atmosphere with exposed brick and dim lighting that adds to the ambiance of the meal. Their menu includes plenty of excellent options, but our personal favorites are the house made bolognese and the house salad.

Biagio’s Bistro

Located in the heart of Clifton’s Gaslight DistrictBiagio’s Bistro is a bit of a hidden gem that locals love. The service here is excellent, the dishes are delicious, and the atmosphere is inviting. One of our go-to dishes here is the tomato basil soup, but the whole menu is filled with plenty of delicious choices.

Last but certainly not least is Forno, an Italian restaurant located in the heart of the upscale Hyde Park neighborhood. Forno is known for serving up some of the most unique Italian dishes in the city, including octopus, sword fish, and wild boar. They also offer more traditional entrees like pastas and salad. The food here is fantastic, the service is high quality, and overall the experience at Forno is wonderful.
