Named after the nearest mile marker of the Loveland Bike Trail, Mile 42 Coffee is Cincinnati’s newest independent coffee shop located in Downtown Loveland.
Armed with the goal of “creating community through coffee,” the shop is run by a family with deep roots in the community, which lines up naturally with their mission to create a place where friends, family, and neighbors can gather together and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The shop itself is spacious with tall ceilings, a rustic vibe, and a relaxing atmosphere that practically begs you to come in and stay a while.
One of our favorite things about this shop is the wide variety of seating, including a long wooden bench, a couch area, several smaller tables, and a room with a sliding door near the front of the shop that offers even more seating.
The combination of the wooden floors, the exposed brick walls, and the nice variety of plants sprinkled throughout the shop all contribute to the rustic, yet cozy vibe.
But the atmosphere isn’t the only thing we love about this shop – the food and drinks are great too!
Their menu is packed with a wide variety of options including traditional hot coffee, iced coffee, lattes, macchiatos, Americanos, teas, and more. These all pair nicely with their baked goods as well.
Our personal favorite was the blueberry muffin paired with their dark roast coffee.
For those who are familiar with other independent coffee shops around Cincinnati, Mile 42 offers an experience similar to that of Wyoming Community Coffee – a spacious shop with plenty of seating that’s perfect for nearly any occasion.
Whether you’re interested in getting your caffeine fix on the way to work in the morning, meeting up with a group of friends over a cup of coffee, or getting some work done on your laptop, you can do all of those things comfortably at Mile 42.
The location of the shop is great too. Located just off the Loveland Bike Trail and within walking distance of several great restaurants, breweries, parks, and the Little Miami River, we can easily see this shop becoming the go-to spot (especially on weekend mornings) for people to get their day started with a morning brew before exploring other spots along the bike trail.
It’s exciting to watch the coffee scene grow larger each year throughout the Queen City and Mile 42 Coffee is an excellent addition to the growing list of independent shops.
There’s a lot to love about this shop from the welcoming atmosphere to the high quality coffee to the friendly staff and the noble mission of creating community through coffee.
