Located in Sayler Park on the west side of the city, 13 Below Brewery offers a spacious taproom, friendly staff, and a great neighborhood vibe. With an extensive beer menu and the option to add on some hot pretzels and beer cheese, this is an excellent spot to hang out and enjoy some beer and food with friends.

16 Lots Brewing Company

Named after the initial parcels of land that were first joined together to form the area that is now Mason, 16 Lots Brewing Company is a brewery known for their wide selection of beer and their in-house pizza kitchen.

The brewery is located in a strip mall, but don’t let that deter you – it’s a great place to grab a drink with plenty of seating and a friendly staff.

Alexandria Brewing Company

Located across the Ohio River in Alexandria, KY sits Alexandria Brewing Company, a brewery started by Andy Reynolds. The story behind Andy’s decision to start the brewery can be found on their website:

Andy’s passion for brewing started in a warzone while making hard cider with apple juice and yeast.  His love of homebrewing led to the formation of Alexandria Brewing Company, but severe health issues forced him to put this dream on hold.  Years later, Andy was fortunate enough to attend Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and graduate in Advanced Brewing Theory.  While at Seibel, Andy was able to gain a better understanding of the industry and learn the ins and outs of the craft.  This version of Alexandria Brewing Company is the result.

Next up on the list is Bad Tom Smith Brewing, a brewery that recently moved from Linwood to Madisonville. The new brewery features a large taproom, an awesome selection of high quality craft beers, and a great atmosphere.

Big Ash Brewing

If you’re into pouring your own glass of beer, look no further than Big Ash Brewing. Located on the east side on Beechmont Avenue, this brewery just opened in Fall of 2019. With 28 different taps that you can choose from, you get to pour your own beer here and you get to decide on the size. You simply pay by the ounce. 

Big Ash Brewing has plenty of seating indoors along with a great covered front porch that’s fun to hang out on when the weather is nice.

Bircus Brewing Company

Located in Ludlow, KY, Bircus Brewing Company is truly one of the most unique breweries in the Cincinnati area. As the name implies, Bircus combines brewing with a circus atmosphere. With a taproom that boasts over 7,000 square feet of space, a stage where live circus members perform tight rope walking and other acrobatic feats, and an impressive variety of both drinks and food, this is a spot that you must check out.

Braxton Brewing Company

One of the more popular breweries in the Cincinnati area is Braxton Brewing Company. Located in Covington, KY, Braxton offers an impressive selection of craft beers on tap, a family-friendly atmosphere, and a dog-friendly environment.

They even offer tours of the brewery for those who want to get a look behind the scenes. In addition, the hand crafted furniture combined with the living wall of plants creates a truly unique interior. Plus, there’s a rooftop bar that’s fun to hang out at when the weather is nice.

Next up is one of the newer breweries to open in the city: BrewDog Cincinnati. BrewDog is actually a microbrew chain that has locations both around the U.S. and the U.K. The opening of their newest location in Cincinnati is particularly exciting because this spot offers a spacious taproom, an excellent selection of craft beers, a great atmosphere, and even a roof top bar. This is definitely a place worth checking out.

Brink Brewing

Next up on the list is Brink Brewing, a craft brewery in the College Hill neighborhood. Brink has won numerous medals at the Great American Brewery Festival, which is evidence of the quality of their beer.

Cellar Dweller is the craft beer arm of Valley Vineyards, which is known primarily for being a winery. Despite being known for wine, Cellar Dweller has a nice selection of beers at their location in Morrow along with a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy them in.

Christian Moerlein Brewing

Next up is Christian Moerlein Brewing, a brewing company that was started in 1853 in Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine neighborhood by none other than Christian Moerlein.

Their location in OTR offers one of the most unique taproom experiences. The interior is composed of curved tall arches and several spacious seating areas. In addition, they have jenga, pool, corn hole, and a foosball table, which makes it kid-friendly.

They also have a location in Smale Riverfront Park called Moerlein Lager House, which produces a full line of Christian Moerlein craft beers and offers a full-scale restaurant to enjoy the brews in.

One of the best breweries to visit on the outskirts of Cincinnati is The Common Beer Company. Located in Mason, this brewery offers an inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff, a great selection of craft beers, and even a nice patio with a fire pit. The patio space is also dog-friendly, so this is a great place to check out when the weather is nice and bring the pup along.

Next up is Cincy Brewing Company, a brewery located in Lincoln Heights. With an warm environment and a great selection of craft beers and bar food, this is a great place to stop by for a drink when they’re open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Darkness Brewing

If you’re a fan of darker craft beers, you have to check out Darkness Brewing. Located in Bellevue, KY, this brewery specializes in dark and unusual styles of craft beers. They do offer lighter beers as well, for those that prefer something a little less dark.

Despite having a small taproom, there is a good amount of seating on the inside and the picnic tables on the outside add to the seating options. The atmosphere is super laid-back and they even allow you to bring your own food inside to sit and enjoy a bite to eat with a beer. Plus, they have a food truck that offers a variety of bar-style food options when the weather is nice out.

Another one of the newer breweries to open in Cincinnati recently is Dead Low Brewing on the east side. Located along the Ohio River in the neighborhood of California, this spot offers a spacious taproom along with a full-service restaurant with a great selection of craft beers along with several entree choices. Fibonacci Brewing

If you’re looking for a nanobrewery that produces high quality craft beers in a laid back, friendly atmosphere, look no further than Fibonacci Brewing. Named after a mathematical phenomenon known as the Fibonacci sequence, this brewery located in the neighborhood of Mt. Healthy might be small, but it sure is mighty.

Fifty West Brewing Company

One of the most unique breweries in the Queen City is Fifty West Brewery. Located on the east end of Cincy along the Little Miami River, Fifty West is one of the only breweries in the region that boasts six outdoor volleyball courts, which hosts weekly leagues and tournaments. 

In addition, they host what is known as “Penny Flip” nights on Tuesdays where you can literally flip a penny and, if you guess correctly, only have to pay one penny for your drink. The fun community activities and events, combined with the two story brewery with indoor and outdoor seating makes Fifty West a must-stop place to grab a beer.

If you’re looking for a brewery with good beer, friendly staff, delicious pizza, and plenty of pretzel sticks, then FigLeaf Brewing Company is the place for you. Located in Middletown, this brewery consistently offers a great selection of craft beers that can be enjoyed in a laid-back environment.

Fretboard Brewing Company

Another unique brewery in the Queen City is Fretboard Brewing Company in Blue Ash. Fretboard is a brewery created by musicians that aims to combine the best of music and brews.

Next up is Grainworks Brewing Company, a brewery located in West Chester that is known for having various food trucks at their location nearly every day. One of the best small batch breweries that you can find in Cincinnati is Happy 2 Brewing located inside of Mio’s Pizza in Anderson. Despite being a smaller brewery, this is a great place to get some high quality craft beer. We personally love the amber beer they offer on tap.

HighGrain Brewing Company

Next up on the list is HighGrain Brewing Company located in the heart of the Silverton neighborhood. This is a brewery that takes pride in operating in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly manner and always puts customers first.

Along with their great selection of craft beers, they also offer a variety of dishes to complement the drinks. Our personal favorite dish they offer is the fish and chips, which makes for the perfect meal with a beer.

Hofbrauhaus

Located just across the Ohio River in Newport, KY sits Hofbrauhaus, a wildly popular brewery and restaurant in the Cincinnati area. Known for their plentiful amount of seating, delicious food and beer, and live music, this is a great place to visit during any day of the week, but we recommend checking it out on the weekend when they’re known to stay open until 2AM.

Located in the hip neighborhood of NorthsideHumble Monk Brewing Company is a homegrown local brewery that brews high quality craft beer with a Belgian influence. One of the most beloved breweries in Cincinnati is Listermann BrewingCompany, a microbrewery situated just north of Evanston near the campus of Xavier University.

Listermann is a family-owned brewing company found by husband and wife Dan and Sue Listermann that offers an impressive selection of craft beers, wines, and ciders. With unique flavors like Barrel Aged Chickow! and Nutcase Peanut Butter Porter that have won several awards at beer shows, it’s no wonder why this brewery is a favorite among Cincinnatians.

One of the most well-known breweries in all of Cincinnati is Madtree Brewing, located in Oakley. MadTree offers an impressive selection of craft beers, an indoor wood-fired pizza bar, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This is also one of the most popular places to bring your dog and enjoy a beer. On any given night, you’ll find a dozen or more dogs roaming around in the outdoor seating area, which is perfect if you’re looking to pet some good pups.

Mash Cult Brewing

Mash Cult Brewing is a nanobrewery located in the Party Town warehouse in Florence, KY. Since they don’t have a taproom, they don’t make most lists of Cincinnati breweries, but they’re still a place worth checking out. Created by Jon Wells and Tony Harrell, Mash Cult is known for churning out some weird beers that have unique tastes. Word on the street is that they may make a brick and mortar store some day, so keep an eye out for that.

Municipal Brew Works

Municipal Brew Works is a brewery that was created by re-purposing the old City of Hamilton municipal building. Narrow Path Brewing Co.

Located directly off the Loveland Bike Trail sites Narrow Path Brewing, a brewery that is truly a local favorite. Although the indoor taproom is fairly small, they have an excellent outdoor seating area with plenty of chairs, picnic tables, and a fire pit, which is perfect for hanging out around with family, friends, and even pets.

Narrow Path typically has around 15 different craft beers on tap, which means you’ll always have a nice selection of brews to choose from. This is one brewery that’s well worth visiting.

Nine Giant Brewing

Located in the heart of Pleasant RidgeNine Giant is a craft brewery known for their high quality beer and family-friendly environment.

Open on Tuesday through Sunday, the brewery offers a wide selection of beers, mimosas and cocktails along with a variety of cheeseburgers, nachos, wings, and other delicious dishes.

Northern Row Brewery & Distillery

Next up on the list is Northern Row, a brewery and distillery located in the northern portion of Over-The-Rhine. Currently they’re only a brewery that provides a variety of craft beers to various bars around the city, but they do have a taproom in the works. Off Track Brewing Company is a nano-brewery located in Over-The-Rhine that was founded by two friends that have been homebrewing together for over twenty years. They don’t have a public taproom, but their brews are served around the corner at Dunlap Cafe, which offers a full bar and beer garden open Monday through Saturday.

Paradise Brewing Company is a brewery located in the neighborhood of Anderson. The taproom is known as a great community gathering place with plenty of seating and at least 10 beers on tap to enjoy. One of the most well-known and largest breweries in Cincinnati is Rhinegeist Brewery.
